Buffs defense looks like it's supposed to

A defensive that was supposed to be very good looked very good Saturday against a very good offensive team.
West Texas A&M held Tarleton State, a team that could run and pass with equal skill, to under 300 yards. The performance boosted the Buffs to No. 2 in total defense in the Lone Star Conference, 300 ypg, and No. 2 in scoring defense, 18.9 ppg. WT notched its second shutout, the second straight season the Buffs have blanked an opponent. That's impressive in this day of spread offenses that give even the least potent offenses a chance for points.
To be successful in the playoffs, three things have to happen:
* No turnovers: The Buffs had none vs. Tarleton
* Rushing yards needed: WT had 253, a season high, vs. Tarleton.
* Defense is a must: WT had its best game.
Bring on the playoffs, the Buffs look ready.
